press releaseThe Crucible Presented by Bare Theatre's Rogue Company Bare Theatre's Rogue Company will present Arthur Miller's The Crucible August 31 - September 3, 2006 Thursday through Saturday at 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm at Common Ground Theatre. Directed by Artistic Director Carmen-maria Mandley, this story, based on the witch trials in Salem and laced with ideas of the McCarthyism, will begin Bare Theatre's 2006-2007 season. Bare Theatre Company is a Raleigh based company that made its debut in 2001 with a staged reading of Shakespeare's Coriolanus and a full production of Much Ado About Nothing. Bare Theatre resurrected in 2005 with a Rogue Company production of Titus Andronicus in July, which was awarded runner-up for the top ten shows in 2005 by the News & Observer and The Classical Voice of North Carolina. The company now begins its second full season with the gripping and passionate tale of The Crucible. The mission of Bare Theatre is to form a group of artists dedicated to simple, eclectic, non-traditional and spontaneous theatre and to give audiences a clear, articulate and passionate experience of theatre with little more than a room, audience, actors, and text. This will be the second production by Rogue Company, the young company division of Bare Theatre. The Crucible will be shaped by the voices of twenty young people ranging in age from fourteen to twenty-two. Tickets are on sale now and are $15 for adults and $7 for students, military, and seniors. For ticket reservations and information please call 919-771-3281. Throughout the run of The Crucible local artists Mandy Weih and Tabor Hutchens, both seniors at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, will be displaying their artwork in the lobby of Common Ground Theatre and will be at the opening night reception on Thursday, August 31. Common Ground Theatre is located at 4815B Hillsborough Road in Durham, NC.
